Hu Kitchen

Last year in New York I discovered Hu Kitchen, and decided to give you all the inside scoop because it is just too good to miss out on!

Hu Kitchen is based in New York, available for ordering online, and is centered around their philosophy stated on the website:

“The goal isn’t to just get by.

The goal is to live actively, age gracefully, and flourish.

We are inspired by quality food’s ability to heal versus poor quality food’s guarantee to hinder. We started Hu to help people get back to eating, living, and thriving like humans.”

The store itself, located on 5th and E 14th street, has a naturally cool earth vibe, and gives off a warm feeling upon entering. When going as a customer, the store has many options! You may order to stay, and sit atop in the balcony that looks out over the store... order and take the freshly prepared goods their specially curated mini market of hand selected goods, with terrifically clean, and minimal ingredients... and even order a coffee to go from the bar. The market is what I decided to investigate my first time visiting! They offer fresh pressed juices, on the go beverages, house made chia puddings and overnight oats, as well as an assortment of healthy snacks, and their own personal line of chocolate bars.

I picked up the following three items:

-Rind’s Tangy Kiwi Super Fruit Snack

-Healing Home Food’s Raw Graham Bites

-Healing Home Food’s Raw Kale Goji Crackers

Rind’s Tangy Kiwi Super Fruit Snack was indeed tangy!! The only ingredient is kiwi, which I love, and was a surprisingly chewy, and interesting snack. When it comes to dried fruits, I am generally careful of commonly added sugars. Yet, this brand keeps it 100% clean, real, and delicious!

Healing Home Food’s Raw Graham Bites are simply incredible. After trying just one, I knew this would be a repeat buy for me. The bites are subtly sweet, chewy, and bring me back to the days when Graham Crackers came in the little circus animals box with a strong handle attached! With all ingredients you can easily read, and pronounce, this makes a wonderful treat or snack for any day!

Also, from Healing Home Foods I tried their Raw Kale Goji Crackers. Once again the ingredients are on point, and listed upfront on the front side of all their packaging. Something about a brand that lists it’s ingredients on the front of their packaging, instills another layer of trust with me! These crackers are flaky (but not messy), light, and deliciously crunchy.

P.s. attention all students!! They have a 10% discount for you with ID... your welcome xo ;) so to conclude, Hu Kitchen is a one stop shop for healthy, real foods that will make you feel your best self!
